Rob Beschizza resolveu por em prática um dica sugerida por John Waters (“Por quê só fazem remakes de filmes bons? Por quê não tentam consertar filmes ruins?” – algo nesse naipe) e resolveu retrabalhar um dos piores filmes de David Lynch, sua bisonha adaptação para o filme Duna. Sua premissa? Tirar os diálogos do filme. Todos. O resultado, que não dá pra embedar no post, é uma espécie de Moebius steampunk, um Cronenberg rococó, um Jodorowski felliniano, dirigido por um sueco com poucos amigos, e a primeira cena do filme pode ser assistida aqui. TENSO.

E o Boing Boing nos lembra que fazem cinco anos que uma das melhores cabeças do século 20 parou de funcionar. E como o blog, cito um trecho da Wikipedia para falar da importância de RAW:

Não custa lembrar que A Nova Inquisição é um dos poucos livros dele publicado no Brasil, ao lado do incrível Gatilho Cósmico, um livro incrível. Mas sua obra-prima, a Trilogia Iluminatti, continua inédita no Brasil. Que lacuna!

A man dressed as Batman was arrested on Wednesday after police in a small Michigan town found him hanging off the side of a building and carrying concealed weapons including a baton and a can of chemical irritant spray.

Police in Petoskey, in northwest Michigan, received a call reporting that a man dressed as Batman, a comic book hero and the subject of a number of blockbuster movies, was on the roof of a building in the center of the town of about 6,000 people.

Officers found Mark Wayne Williams, 31, hanging off the western wall of the building. They pulled him back onto the roof and found he was carrying the baton, spray and a pair of lead-lined gloves.
Williams was charged with several counts of carrying concealed weapons, one count of carrying a gas-ejecting weapon and another count of creating a disturbance, said John Calabrese, public safety chief in Petoskey.

“He really didn’t offer us any explanation,” Calabrese said when asked why Williams was in costume. “Our officers did not interrogate him at any length.”

By various reports, we are now learning that marijuana grew along the outside walls of Osama bin Laden’s compound in Abbottabad, Pakistan. Was the Al Qaeda mastermind a stoner? He and his buds were said to have “bought a lot of food,” and frequently placed bulk orders for Coke and Pepsi with a local grocer— so there’s that. And, those glazed and distant eyes. But I doubt it: if ever there were a persona more harsh than mellow, it was this fellow.
