Faltam 8 dias para o Radiohead fazer seu primeiro show no Brasilt

E hoje rolou um papo que eles já estão com músicas novas, além do post em que Thom Yorke publicou hoje, falando do que tem ouvido (Beta Band, Nina Simone, Mr. Oizo, Matthew Dear, The Bug, PJ Harvey e Jaylib) e mandando um recado antes de embarcar para a América do Sul: “wish us all a safe journey if you still like us and you’re not one of those people i have managed to offend by doing nothing xx”. O recado pode ter sido prum monte de gente, já que a atitude de Yorke tem incomodado tanto o Robert Smith quanto Kanye West, sem contar a Milley Cyrus.

O décimo terceiro

O Cure apresentou, pela primeira vez, a íntegra de seu próximo disco, 4:13 Dream - o décimo terceiro da carreira da banda - em um concerto ao ar livre na Piazza San Giovanni, em Roma. Eis um bom jeito de evitar que as músicas vazem online. A banda vem transformando o lançamento de seu próximo disco num acontecimento online, postando músicas novas em seu site uma vez por mês, numa espécie de contagem regressiva para o lançamento do disco, que só vai sair no final do mês. Para o resto do planeta, talvez o Cure nunca tenha tido um grande impacto no cenário pop como o autor de um punhado de hits. Mas para seu público fiel, este evento de lançamento deste ano está sendo um grande veículo para o novo disco (pena que as músicas estejam aquém da qualidade que Robert Smith pode atingir). Olhando pelo ponto de vista de produção, é um show de graça, bancado pela Coca-Cola com transmissão da MTV e upload quase simultâneo no YouTube. Olhando pelo ponto de vista do fã, é uma banda lançando um disco de músicas inéditas para todo o planeta, ao mesmo tempo. O disco - seja o pedaço de plástico ou o arquivo zipado com as músicas gravadas - é só um acessório para este acontecimento, que saiu das lojas de discos e ganhou o ciberespaço. Para quem não está nem aí, não há sequer um disco novo do Cure. Para quem gosta, há o autor se entregando inteiro, não apenas num disco prateado.
