Vida Fodona #200: Volume III

Como tento explicar rapidamente na introdução, inauguro aqui o terceiro “álbum” do Vida Fodona - a cada 100 MP3s, uma tag de “album” nova, que dá início a uma série de mudanças no podcast. Além de assumir o formato Vida Fodona Soundsystem - abandono de vez as intervenções faladas entre as músicas como um programa de rádio e cogito o elemento mixtape como premissa básica do VF -, comemoro o quarto ano do podcast reinventando-o lentamente. Muitos já vieram me falar que o programa salvou madrugadas, idas para o trabalho e até mesmo festinhas e esse é exatamente o tipo de contribuição que espero com o podcast - minha “remuneração” vem em forma de sorrisos despertos pelo som e por simplesmente ser capaz de por um corpo em movimento - seja o pisar ritmado do pé, o balanço da cabeça ou o molejo dos quadris. Estou tocando para uma galera escutar junto, não só para ouvintes isolados em seus fones de ouvido. Aumente o som - e deixe-o reverberar na atmosfera, deixe-o domar o cômodo (fisico ou mental), incomode os vizinhos, ponha a caixa de som na janela. Os anos 10 estão só começando e eu tenho certeza de que vamos dançá-los juntos.

On the Run 53: Dangermouse Promos (1999)

Muito antes de lançar uma das pedras fundamentais da década do mashup (o Grey Album, de 2003), Brian Burton já escorregava suas mãos por vinis e, aos poucos, fundia beats de outras músicas em seu caldeirão hip hop. Duas mixtapes de 1999 mostram que, apesar de seu completo domínio da cena hip hop em sua discotagem (que dá o tom dos dois sets), ele não se segurava em colocar alguns estranhos - como Blondie, R.E.M., Scritti Pollitti, Phil Collins e, é claro, os Beatles - para chacoalhar com o groove. Coisa fina.

On the Run 51: Avalanches - After the Goldrush

Vamo começar a semana espantando esse frio - pelo menos do cérebro. Enquanto vou escolhendo as músicas pro Vida Fodona de hoje, chovem mixtapes. Vamos começar por essa obra-prima dos Avalanches, que eram do tempo em que se chamava mashup de bootleg ou bastard pop e que a preservação dos direitos autorais do século 20 ainda era motivo de preocupação para os novíssimos players do século 21 (lembro dos caras comemorando o fato da Madonna ter permitido usar o baixo - infelizmente não a música toda - de “Into the Groove” “Holiday” em sua estreia em disco, Since I Left You, o melhor disco de 2001 e, com certeza, um dos pilares da década atual. Mas desde este primeiro disco, o grupo australiano de DJs não lançou mais nada oficialmente, nos deixando nas mãos de heróicos “piratas” digitais que nos trazem tesouros como esse After the Goldrush - um DJ set do ano passado que eu só vi passando por aqui agora… Dava pra falar horas sobre essa seqüência de músicas (especialmente pra enfatizar o fato de um dos melhores “lançamentos” de 2009 ser uma mixtape do ano passado, haha), mas espere os caras engatarem Queen, “Sandwiches”, Daft Punk e Hall & Oates enfileirados - ou deixa eles transformarem uma pérola esquecida dos Beach Boys com um hit dos Chemical Brothers.
